MY WATCH
My Watch is a detailed, three-volume autobiography by former Nigerian
President Olusegun Obasanjo. It traces his full life story from his
rural childhood and military career to his two periods leading Nigeria.
The memoir also pulls back the curtain on Nigeria’s politics, revealing
the controversies, power struggles, and behind-the-scenes decisions that
shaped the nation. The book is divided into three volumes that cover
three major eras:
Volume 1: Early Life and Military
Covers his humble beginnings in a rural village, his entry into the
military, and his role commanding troops during the Nigerian Civil War.
Volume 2: Political and Public Office
Details his time as Military Head of State from 1976–1979 and his two
terms as Nigeria’s democratically elected civilian President from
1999–2007.
Volume 3: Reflections and Legacy
Contains personal letters, private correspondences, and scathing
commentaries on notable contemporary figures and political leaders who
served alongside him and life thereafter.
