Out of the Depths‘ is a memoir that details the author’s life experiences from when she embarked on the Nigerian National Youth Service to date

Her story is one of perseverance, faith and trust in God. After the sudden demise of her husband of two years, she is left with the burden of caring for herself and their two children

This experience took her on a journey of self-discovery that has shaped and paved her path towards success.

Her story was touching yet inspiring especially during the early years of her marriage and her career as she took all the challenges that came in her stride

Her courage and doggedness is admirable, mirroring God’s faithfulness in the lives of those that trust in him. I also loved her openness as regards her struggles during her marriage and the message it sends to young people about the importance of taking your time through God’s guidance while choosing a life partner

However, I would have loved for this memoir to spend more time in the parts where she started excelling in her career. I felt these parts were a bit rushed or summarized but are equally important for young women or even men who are growing in the corporate world and need all the advise they can get to succeed in their endeavors

I would have also preferred for the testimonials by her family and friends to come at the tail end of the book instead as they tended to distract the me from the core of the story

Nevertheless, reading this memoir was good experience and I am curious to see what the author may come up with next
